About the event

Join Navy veteran Jan Hamby and Army veteran Dale Hamby at Lancaster County's Fair Winds Farm for this twilight workshop. Jan and Dale raise Finn sheep and lavender, and will offer an optional tour at 6:30 pm, prior to the 7 pm workshop.

Melanie Barkley, Senior Livestock Educator,  Penn State Extension will lead the session on considerations for sheep and goat producers planning to sell to ethnic buyers.

Corrin Markey, DVM, MPH, CPH, Veterinary Medical Officer with USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will share information on what a flock ID is and how farmers can get one, general tagging requirements, and the types of official identification that is available for sheep and goats.
